Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, and we have answers.

  • Where are Pure Dakota products currently available?
There are currently eight registered Medical Marijuana Dispensaries in North Dakota; Pure Dakota products are available at each of these locations.
  • How long is a cannabis plant's life cycle?
Depending on the strain of the plant, it can range anywhere from four to six months to reach full maturity.
  • With so many options available, how do I find the right product for me?
Unlike traditional pharmaceuticals, cannabis is a very personalized treatment option. We encourage all patients to work closely with their local dispensaries to try various options and determine which products work the best for treating their symptoms.
  • Do you grow from seed or clone?
We start from a seed initially until we have a full grown plant, which is called the mother plant. Once the mother plant is matured, we then take cuts of the plant called clones. With the cuts, we duplicate the genetics of the plant.
  • Why doesn't my dispensary carry one of your products?
If the product you're looking for isn’t available at your local dispensary, you can ask them to order that specific product from us. Although uncommon, it is possible for a specific product to be out of stock in several locations at once.
  • Can patients make recommendations for future products?
Yes. We accept all patient feedback including suggestions for future products. Leave a suggestion here.
  • How should I store my products?
All medicated products should be stored in their original packaging with the labels affixed. Pure Dakota products may all be kept at room temperature in a cool dry place to preserve quality. We recommend keeping all products in an upright vertical position.
  • Are your plants all grown indoors?
Yes. All of our plants are grown in a secure indoor facility with supplemental lighting.
  • Why is my Distillate Cartridge not producing vapor?
On occasion, the atomizer that heats and vaporizes the distillate may require replenishment from the oil in the surrounding tank. The atomizer naturally pulls in the oil from the tank; however, the distillate may cool quickly and thicken, reducing flow to the atomizer. Replenishing the atomizer with oil is known as priming. Priming your distillate cartridge liquifies the distillate, allowing for the oil to flow readily into the atomizer. To prime your cartridge, apply gentle indirect heat around the tank. This will allow the distillate to liquefy and enter the atomizer to be vaporized. For a quick remedy, simply return the cartridge to the dram included and ensure the cartridge is safely sealed inside. Once sealed inside, place the dram into a container with hot tap water to heat up the distillate inside the cartridge – DO NOT submerge the Distillate Cartridge itself in water. After removing the cartridge from the dram hold it vertically to allow flow into the atomizer.
  • Are your products tested before they are available to patients?
Yes. All of our products undergo rigorous third-party testing to ensure their safety and quality.
  • Do you do extraction and formulation in-house?
Yes. All of our tinctures, concentrates, and topicals are created in the Pure Dakota Lab.
  • Do you package in-house?
Yes. Every unit is packaged, labeled, and tamper sealed at the manufacturing facility before it is sent to any dispensaries.
